What separates them is how much load they carry, how large each panel is, and what the surface underneath needs to survive. Which Trackway System Is Right for Your Project?
Load comes first. For cranes, piling rigs and fully loaded HGVs, PowerTrax 60 composite trackway carries 150 tonnes on a 3m by 1.88m panel with a market-leading interlocking connection, which is what keeps a haul route continuous under daily heavy traffic.
PowerTrax 40 and TuffTrak both sit at 150 tonnes but solve different problems. PowerTrax 40 uses rubber panels of 2.4m by 3m for fast coverage on construction access and car parks. TuffTrak uses a Chevron traction surface for gradients, mud and standing water, where grip matters more than panel size.
Below that, PowerTrax 20 covers light plant up to 38 tonnes with ground-securing pins that stop panels moving under braking, and EuroMatsat 30 tonnes sit low on grass for marquees, festivals and temporary car parks. Both are light enough for a crew to lay by hand.

Which track mats do I need for my load?
Start with your heaviest vehicle. Cranes, piling rigs and fully loaded HGVs need PowerTrax 60, rated to 150 tonnes. Tippers, concrete wagons and telehandlers suit PowerTrax 40 or TuffTrak, also 150 tonnes but with different panel sizes and surfaces. Up to 38 tonnes, PowerTrax 20 covers light plant and mixed pedestrian use. EuroMats at 30 tonnes are for cars, light vans and event traffic. What is the difference between HDPE composite and rubber track mats?
PowerTrax 60 is moulded from high-density polyethylene composite, which gives a stiff panel that spreads load across a wide area and stays dimensionally stable under sustained heavy traffic. PowerTrax 40 is rubber, which conforms slightly to uneven ground and takes impact well, making it forgiving on rough surfaces. Composite suits crane pads and permanent haul routes, rubber suits general construction access and event logistics.
What size are your trackway panels?
PowerTrax 60 panels are 3m by 1.88m by 60mm. PowerTrax 40 is 2.4m by 3m by 40mm, TuffTrak is 3m by 2.5m by 38mm, PowerTrax 20 is 3m by 1m by 20mm and EuroMats are 2.4m by 1.2m by 12mm. Larger panels cover ground faster but need mechanical handling, while smaller panels can be laid by hand.
How much does a trackway panel weigh?
PowerTrax 60 panels weigh 225kg each, which is why they are placed with lifting equipment rather than by hand. Weights for the other systems depend on the panel and are quoted on request. As a rule, anything above 100kg needs mechanical handling, and our crews can install the heavier systems as part of the hire.
Can track mats be laid on grass?
Yes. EuroMats and PowerTrax 20 are the usual choices for grass because their low profile spreads weight and protects the turf underneath, which is why they are used for marquees, festivals and car parks. On soft ground that will be driven over by heavy vehicles, TuffTrak is the better option. We can advise on ground preparation and on protecting the surface underneath for the duration of the hire.
Do you sell track mats or only hire them?
Our range is hired rather than sold as standard, which suits most projects because you do not pay for panels you will not use again. If you are planning repeat or long-term use, tell us at the quote stage and we will talk through the options, including longer-term hire rates.
