Heavy-Duty Trackway Hire
Rated up to 150 tonne. Our aluminium and composite trackway provides safe, stable vehicle access across soft, wet, or sensitive ground. From temporary site roads to crane pads — nationwide delivery and collection.
Trackway is temporary ground protection designed for vehicles. It creates a stable, load-bearing surface over soft, wet, or sensitive ground — letting HGVs, cranes, and plant machinery access sites that would otherwise be impassable. For construction, events, utilities, and film production, it is the difference between a project that stays on schedule and one that grinds to a halt when the ground fails.
GT Trax supplies five trackway systems spanning lightweight pedestrian-capable mats to 150-tonne aluminium panels. All available for hire nationwide — delivered, installed, and collected on your schedule. No purchase commitment, no storage costs, no maintenance.
How much does trackway hire cost?
Trackway hire pricing depends on a few key factors. We quote per project because every site is different — here is what determines the cost.
Area and quantity
The more mats you need, the lower the per-unit rate. Larger projects benefit from volume pricing. We will help you calculate the right quantity for your site.
Hire duration
Daily rates drop significantly for weekly and monthly hires. A one-week event hire costs less per day than a single-day job. Long-term construction rates are the most economical.
Delivery and install
Distance from our Cambridgeshire base, access constraints, and whether you need our team to install or are happy supply-only all affect the total. We quote transparently — no hidden charges.

Which trackway do I need?
The right trackway depends on three things: what is driving on it, what the ground is like, and how long it needs to last. Here is how to choose.
Identify your heaviest vehicle
If you have cranes, piling rigs, or fully loaded HGVs, you need PowerTrax 60 (150 tonne). For standard construction traffic — tippers, concrete wagons, telehandlers — PowerTrax 40 or TuffTrak. For lighter vehicles up to 38 tonnes, PowerTrax 20 is the cost-effective choice.
Assess your ground conditions
Soft, wet, or boggy ground? Choose TuffTrak — its composite construction and Chevron traction surface are designed for the worst conditions. Firmer ground with heavy loads? PowerTrax 60 aluminium. Need multidirectional coverage for turning areas or storage compounds? EuroMats interlock in all directions.
Consider your timeline
Short-term event or weekend festival? EuroMats and TuffTrak deploy fast with minimal ground prep. Multi-month construction project? PowerTrax 60 and 40 are built for sustained heavy traffic — they handle daily HGV movements for months without degrading. Longer hires get better daily rates.
Not sure? We will assess your site and recommend the right system.

Frequently asked questions
What weight can your trackway support?
Our PowerTrax 60 aluminium mats handle the heaviest plant and machinery — rated up to 150 tonne, including mobile cranes, piling rigs, and fully loaded HGVs. PowerTrax 40 and TuffTrak are also rated to 150 tonnes. PowerTrax 20 handles up to 38 tonnes for lighter vehicles. If you are unsure which rating you need, call us and we will assess your site.
How quickly can trackway be deployed?
Modular interlocking design means teams can lay hundreds of metres of trackway in hours, not days. No specialist tools required, no ground preparation, no curing time. We deliver on your schedule and the mats go down as fast as your crew can place them.
Does trackway work in all weather conditions?
Yes. Non-slip surface texture provides grip in wet conditions. Mats stay in place on slopes and uneven terrain, and work in mud, snow, and standing water. TuffTrak is particularly effective on wet, boggy ground thanks to its Chevron traction surface.
What is the minimum hire period?
We are flexible — from single-day event hires to multi-month construction projects. Most trackway hires run from a few days to several weeks. Longer hire periods benefit from better daily rates. Tell us your timeline and we will build a quote that works for you.
Do you deliver nationwide?
Yes. From Aberdeen to Plymouth, we deliver and collect across the entire UK. Large stockholding means even big orders can be supplied at short notice. Delivery is by articulated lorry or flatbed with Hiab or forklift offload — we will advise on access requirements when you enquire.
